Snow Shoveler

When the snow falls, you could get the call--Fisk Lawnscapes is hiring snow shovelers for the 2016-17 snow season! Our shovelers work flexible hours throughout the winter, making a good hourly wage, and can open the door to additional employment opportunities with us during the landscape season.

All our employees must abide by the code of conduct, so please review the following before applying:

  • We commit to our customers that we will strive to do the best job possible
  • We are professionals in all we say and do; there is no swearing, smoking, drinking, or misconduct.
  • We aim for perfection. Without exception, we stay on the job until the customer is completely satisfied. If we make mistakes we will make it right even if it means re-doing something.
  • We keep the work site as clean as possible during the job and thoroughly clean up after the job is complete.

Job Description:

  • This is a part-time (on-call), temporary position; however, you may be eligible to apply for a landscape or maintenance position at the end of the snow season if you're interested.
  • We have approximately 30 commercial properties ranging from Rockrimmon to Falcon, Northgate down to Airport Rd. We will try to assign you to properties based on where you live, but you may be required to travel depending on what properties need to be serviced. There are teams at each property and the team size depends on the size of the property. We are asking that you are willing to commit to the entire season (October through April).

Job Requirements:

  1. All shovelers are required to agree to and follow Fisk Lawnscapes Code of Conduct.
  2. All shovelers are required to keep their phone nearby and be ready to be called out at all times. Most hours are between midnight and 9am as that is when Colorado Springs gets the most snow. This means that you will need to keep your phone near you at all times.
  3. All shovelers are expected to be prepared to leave their house within 15 to 20 minutes of getting called out by the dispatcher.
  4. We are willing to work around school schedules, other work schedules, or other conflicting scheduling; however, these schedules must be made known to Fisk Lawnscapes at the time of hire and emailed to our admin immediately. It is up to the employee to email the admin of any scheduling changes with at least 2 weeks prior notice to the schedule change.
  5. On the first no-show, the employee will be given a warning. On the second no-show, the employee will be terminated. No-shows include not answering call out phone calls by the second call, not showing up to a job site, or leaving a job site without permission from a foreman or dispatch coordinator.
  6. We look forward to working with you to help keep Colorado Springs snow and ice-free this winter!
